Zafir Rawji

Coach

Growing up, Coach Zaf played in Edmonton for the SSAC Lions AAA (U15), Bulldogs AAA (U16), and Athletics AAA (U18). He had two thirty goal seasons and an impressive 77 points in 37 games for his best season.

 

He then graduated to the AJHL suiting up for the Sherwood Park Crusaders, Olds Grizzlys, and the Lloydminster Bobcats scoring an even 100 points in 148 AJHL contests. Not bad at all. Following his domination of the AJHL, Coach Zaf was recruited to Mount Royal University and has spent the past two seasons with the MRU Cougars in U-Sports.

 

Fun fact: Zafir has also played elite, competitive ball hockey majority of his life and will be representing Team Canada ball hockey in the World Championships starting on June 26th, 2023.

 

As a coach, Zafir has demonstrated a passion for developing young players and helping them achieve their full potential. He has a deep understanding of the game and a talent for identifying the strengths and weaknesses of his players, enabling him to provide targeted guidance and support to help them improve.

 

Zafir’s dedication to hockey is evident in all aspects of his life, and he is a true asset to any team he is a part of. Whether as a player or a coach, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the ice, and is sure to have a positive impact on the development and success of any team he works with.
