Playing Journey & Leadership
Dylan’s hockey story began at age 6 in Langley, BC. After stellar minor-hockey seasons, he spent his bantam draft year at Yale Hockey Academy (Abbotsford), then skated three impactful seasons (2019–22) with the Everett Silvertips (WHL). In his over-age season, Dylan served as Alternate Captain of the Vancouver Giants, anchoring their locker room and on-ice performance. Today, he’s entering his third season with the U of Calgary Dinos—balancing high-level play with his pursuit of higher education.
Coaching Experience & Philosophy
Though new to full-time coaching, Dylan brings years of leading summer camps and youth clinics. His philosophy centers on:
Skill & Confidence: Building fundamentals in skating and puck control, while challenging players to make smart decisions under pressure.
Teamwork & Resilience: Fostering a positive, disciplined environment where athletes learn sportsmanship, work ethic, and how to rebound from mistakes.
Joy of the Game: Keeping every drill and discussion engaging, so kids stay motivated and discover how fun hockey can be.
Off-Ice Insights & Fun Facts
Nutrition Pick: Grilled chicken breast, pasta with rosé sauce, and a side of steamed broccoli—fuel for both body and brain.
Hockey Idol: Sidney Crosby, for his relentless work ethic and two-way excellence.
Top Advice Received: “Control what you can—your effort, attitude, and preparation.”
Dream NHL Coaching Gig: One game behind the bench of the Edmonton Oilers, guiding superstars like McDavid and Draisaitl.
Favorite Memory: Stepping onto that sold-out Everett crowd for the first time—feeling the roar of the fans and adrenaline surge.
Beyond the Ice: A Metallica fan (“For Whom the Bell Tolls” on repeat) who swears by yoga and dynamic mobility drills to stay limber, prevent injury, and keep skating at top speed.
