Madison Pinel
Program Coordinator & Lead Recruiter
Madison Pinel joins SDR Academy with a championship pedigree and a coach-first approach to player development. A native of Irma, Alberta, she played defence for Liberty University from 2011 to 2016, helping the Flames reach five national tournament appearances and playing a key role in the program’s first national championship in 2015, where she earned All-Tournament honours. Her playing career was built on attention to detail, high work rate and a constant drive to improve.
After her playing days, Madison transitioned into coaching and returned to Liberty as an assistant across multiple seasons. During that time she contributed to further national success and developed deep expertise in systems play, athlete preparation and performance planning. She has also worked extensively with the Lynchburg Youth Hockey Association since 2011, supporting grassroots development and helping young players build sound fundamentals.
At SDR Madison leads recruitment and programme coordination with a focus on personalized development. She matches players to the right coaching, creates bespoke training plans and delivers focused one-on-one sessions supported by monthly video analysis. In her recruiting role she uses her network and experience to connect athletes with next-step opportunities, from prep school placements through to university programmes.
Madison’s coaching philosophy is simple: preparation, purpose and passion. She looks beyond statistics to identify resilience, coachability and a genuine love of the game. Her approach blends technical coaching, tactical clarity and mindset work so players develop into consistent competitors and strong people off the ice.
Players who work with Madison can expect clear goal setting, measurable progress reviews and honest, constructive feedback delivered with care. She is committed to building trust, setting high standards and guiding each athlete toward the pathway that best suits their long-term goals. We are excited to welcome Madison to the SDR team and look forward to the positive impact she will make across our programs.
